Job Summary


The Data Management Technician is responsible for capturing, maintaining, and analyzing data while ensuring its accuracy and consistency across various systems. This role involves utilizing engineering principles, drafting techniques, and specialized data management applications to support the organization’s operational needs.




 


Key Responsibilities



  • Apply principles of engineering, drafting, and mathematics to data management tasks.

  • Enter, transfer, extract, and verify the accuracy of data.

  • Retrieve and analyze data from multiple databases for report generation or to address inconsistencies.

  • Create and update assets using AutoCAD 2D Mapping Enterprise (AME).

  • Generate reports and documents using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Research and compile information for data entry purposes.

  • Maintain document management standards, including attributes and classes.

  • Assist users and stakeholders with data management processes in electronic formats.


Skills and Abilities



  • Operate specialized data management applications.

  • Capture, maintain, and update data accurately.

  • Interpret engineering plans, schematics, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) documents.

  • Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external teams.

  • Utilize a computer for extended periods (up to 8 hours daily).

  • Adapt to new technologies and learn new systems quickly.


 


Required Qualifications :

Desired Qualifications



  • Experience with ArcGIS for spatial data viewing or editing.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting (current versions).

  • Knowledge of tracking and reporting database applications, computerized control systems, and system modeling software.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management.

  • Experience working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to pass a security/background check if required.

  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving technology and organizational needs.
